Gemar latex balloons are made of natural rubber and are completely biodegradable. The balloon begins the process of decomposition as soon as it is inflated, due to the influence of light and the surrounding environment. Under similar environmental conditions, a rubber balloon will decompose at about the same time as a maple leaf.
